Sword Group, a global software and services provider, has formed Sword Insurance, a new company created to provide software and services to the insurance industry. The offshoot business will offer multi-channel distribution technology, customer relationship management (CRM) and specialized policy administration to the property/casualty industry. Sword Group said it recently approved of a research and development budget for a product development organization for Sword Insurance.

Sword AgencyPort co-founders Steven Hauck and Eric Harnden, along with Curt Stevenson, who have worked together for more than 10 years, have been chosen to lead Sword Insurance. The new company will serve more than 110 divisions across 17 countries, with its U.S. division headquartered in Boston, and a UK division in London, with support units in India and Wales.

Sword Group says with the creation of Sword Insurance, and the acquisition of Sword Intech, Sword AgencyPort and Sword Ciboodle, clients who have a single vendor relationship with the company can benefit in the areas of sales, implementation, support and strategic partnership.
