CA Technologies released an update to its VM:Manager Suite for Linux on System z and a new capability for CA Solve Operations Automation. The new releases include capabilities for integrated management for cost controls, efficiency and security, as well as tape management and installment and deployment enhancements. A new capability in CA Solve Operations Automation enables management of Linux applications as if they were System z applications.

 

CloudBlue Technologies Inc. announced new features to its DataToaster data eradication solution. Enhancements include: faster and more flexible asset decommission; portable 4-port and 8-port interface with one fiber connection; expandable configuration for larger volume requests; new capabilities for wiping drives; and an option for hard drive testing.

 

Dell and Cloudera teamed up on a solution for Hadoop. The Dell Cloudera Solution for Hadoop links Cloudera Distribution for Apache Hadoop (CDH), Dell’s recently launched Crowbar software and Cloudera Enterprise combined with the Dell PowerEdge C2100 server and PowerConnect 6248, in addition to a joint service agreement for customers of the software and hardware.

InetSoft Technology and Management Systems International (MSI) joined to put out a solution for interactive dashboard reporting on top of a financial consolidation and information management platform. The Management Performance System consolidates financial data into a Microsoft SQL data warehouse and controls multiple levels of viewing and update permissions, with InetSoft visualizations backed up by MSI’s project and financial management best practices.

Management Dynamics released Export On-Demand 1.2, its export compliance solution for SMBs. New features in the updated edition include global license determination and enhanced management, global embargo configuration, warning word dictionary, and retroactive list screening.

STORServer announced the next generation of its data backup solution, STORServer Virtual Machine Backup. Enhancements to STORServer Virtual Machine Backup version 4.0 include: support for WMware changed block trading and direct copy to and from VMware and IBM Tivoli Storage Manager without intervening proxy copy; setting for non-quiesced snapshots; more detail to client log messages; and hidden partitions with virtual machine backups.

Tiburon launched IQResponse, its latest public safety software offering. Modules in the IQResponse suite include a computer-assisted dispatching product, records modules for emergency personnel, a mobility product, and a jail management/records product.

Viewfinity announced the availability of its newest privilege management solution. Privilege Management 3.6 automates the process of assessing privilege elevation needs and prepares enterprises for elevation needs prior to removing administrator rights.
