BMC, NetApp Partner in Cloud

September 8, 2009 BMC Software and NetApp announced a partnership geared toward cloud environments to jointly offer server, networking, storage provisioning and management.
The partnership will provide mutual customers will a fully automated end-to-end cloud infrastructure, according to a company release. Provisioning and management will be automated across virtual environments using NetApps storage solutions and BMCs Business Service Management platform.
BMC and NetApps partnership comes amid several moves by vendors this month into cloud-based services capitalizing on cloud services revenue, which is on pace to surpass $56.3 billion in 2009, according to a Gartner report. The market itself is expected to reach $150.1 billion by 2013.
Kia Behnia, chief technology officer at BMC Software was quoted in the release emphasizing the importance that consumers be allowed to move to cloud computing at their own pace and that automation is likely to simplify that transition.
