Determining the return on investment of a technology such as cloud computing that’s still in its formative state may seem not much more than a best guess analysis. However, Astadia, the cloud computing integrator, and Salesforce.com partner, has announced the launch of the I.T. Cloud Transformation ROI Calculator, a free online service.

The I.T. Cloud Transformation (ITX) ROI Calculator, which provides results in both US dollars and British pounds, produces a fast estimate of which piece of an I.T. infrastructure and application portfolio will cost less and perform better when transformed to the cloud, specifically to the Force.com platform as well every other major cloud platform including Amazon Web Services and Google.

“This new tool shows how much money I.T. departments could be leaving on the table,” said Astadia vice president Cory Vander Jagt. “Premise based IT solutions leak money at three different inflection points whenever a company gets bigger or smaller. Standardizing an application environment in the cloud consistently provides elasticity at all three points.”

Astadia helps business leaders and I.T. teams accurately estimate the financial returns of their cloud computing projects and works to make sure the projected ROI actually materializes.
