October 9, 2009 – Noetix Corp., a business intelligence software provider for enterprise applications, acquired privately-held Jaros Technologies Corp. today.
Jaros provides BI packaged analytics solutions that incorporate industry-specific best practices, including data models, reports and dashboards, offering prebuilt adapters for the Oracle E-Business Suite.
Noetix’s acquisition will allow the company to offer a complete BI solution for Oracle E-Business Suite customers, including real-time reporting and packaged analytics based on data warehouse architecture, said to Daryl Orts, vice president of engineering technologies for Noetix.
Responding to customer demand, Noetix has cut several years out of the time required to add packaged analytics to their products by acquiring Jaros, said to David Langston, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Noetix.
Consolidation in the BI and analytics area has led to an increase in industry growth as it matures, said Brian McDonough, research manager, analytics and data warehousing software for IDC. The business analytics market recorded $24.1 billion in software license and maintenance revenue in 2008, and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 7.2 percent through 2013.
“The acquisition brings another competitor to the market for BI budgets intended to purchase tools for monitoring organizational performance and presentation of this business intelligence,” McDonough said. “Noetix relies on Oracle's E-Business Suite install base for the bulk of its customers, and it will be competing, although somewhat indirectly, for more of that install-base's BI budgets.”
