One issue with using Big Data is determining the best way to temporarily handle large data sets to analyze them.

Attunity (ATTU) has upgraded a product that lets clients move data in and out of Big Data storage platforms.

The latest version of Attunity Repliweb for Enterprise File Replication, announced Monday, is an enhancement of Attunity's large volume data replication software, which allows the copying of files to and from Apache Hadoop and other platforms. The upgrade is designed to help firms streamline their Big Data analytics, the Burlington, Mass., data-software company said.

The latest version of Attunity's Repliweb includes support for Hadoop platforms including Apache Hadoop, Greenplum HD and Hortonworks. Attunity also said it enhanced the service's file-transfer system and its interaction with Attunity's cloud technology.

"Our newly enhanced solution answers this market need with full manageability, high performance and ease of use," said Attunity vice president of global marketing Matt Benati in a news release. "Attunity helps organizations bypass the complexities associated with the difficult task of moving data to Hadoop and the cloud while enabling them to put their data to immediate use for competitive advantage."
