Aster Data and Dell Join for Analytics in the Cloud

April 26, 2010 - Aster Data today announced it has developed a joint solution with Dell for big data warehouses and advanced analytics. The offering combines Aster Data's advanced MPP data warehouse for data management and analytics processing with Dell's cloud infrastructure solutions and services.

The combination of Aster Data nCluster and Dell's cloud infrastructure is proposed for customers who want to manage and analyze their data without assuming the responsibility that otherwise comes with deploying and managing a data warehouse and advanced analytics internally.

"With the volume of data in enterprises doubling every 18 months, rich and ultra-fast analysis on tens and hundreds of terabytes to petabytes of data has become a necessity," said Mayank Bawa, CEO of Aster Data in the announcement. The offering aims to enable customers to focus on advancing their business with deep insights rather than spending the time and capital on building and managing the infrastructure themselves.
