Best-in-class performers as defined by Aberdeen are able to effectively identify and assess risks and give clear, timely communication of risks to stakeholders. They offer visibility into current risk status and can translate risk assessment data into actionable recommendations. Top security environments also possess speed in their decision-making processes that is based on changes in risk parameters.
Aberdeen conducted a survey in conjunction with this report that found a majority of top security performers commonly employ several best practices. Establishing a consistent risk management framework, along with performing consistent risk assessments (both qualitative and quantitative) were high priority actions. Aberdeen reports that of those surveyed, 58 percent have standardized incident response, both reactive and proactive. Mapping corporate objectives to established risk parameters is routine for 52 percent of best in class.
The report is available free for a limited time at Aberdeen’s Web site.
