The results came in a second annual survey of ODCA members that shows more than half of respondents will run more than 40 percent of IT operations from private clouds by 2015 and a quarter of respondents will run more than 40 percent of IT in public clouds in the same timeframe. Among the 63 respondents, 75 percent plan on a hybrid deployment across both public and private cloud platforms.
Security continues to be a top concern among members, where monitoring (63 percent) and security provider assurance (63 percent) are the leading influencers of standards adoption
Sales and marketing (53 percent) and productivity (47 percent) are the leading opportunities for public cloud, software as a service applications.
The ODCA has more than 300 members and a steering committee with advisors from global organizations including BMW, Lockheed Martin, Capgemini, Deutsche Bank and Marriott.
