Google has launched a new applications marketplace that is designed to give Google Apps customers a place to easily find, deploy and manage cloud computing applications that integrate with Google Apps.

The company claims that in the last three years more than 2 million businesses have adopted Google Apps – from Gmail, to Google Calendar, to the Google Docs suite.

But Google says its customers have asked for a wider variety of business applications — from accounting and project management to travel planning and human resources management.

In the Google Apps Marketplace, user can find applications that Google ensures will work with other Google Apps. So far, there are 50 software applications in the store, including Intuit online payroll package, Freshbooks online billing, Timetonote CRM, and the SurveyMonkey surveying package.

“Google Apps administrators can install integrated apps on their domains and manage them from the Google Apps control panel,” the company explains on its Google Apps Marketplace page.  “Once installed, integrated apps are accessible to users from Google’s universal navigation bar – the links that a user sees at the top of any Google Apps page – and don’t require additional logins. Upon administrator approval, some integrated apps may also read and write data to Gmail, Calendar, Docs and other Google Apps products via Google Data APIs.”
