The 9th International Cloud Computing Expo kicked off on Monday in Santa Clara, Calif., with several vendors announcing products or product upgrades, among them:

Abiquo, an enterprise cloud software provider, is bringing out a new release of its software, which allows companies to build and manage global, automated, self-service clouds. Features of Version 2.0 include a portal for self-service creation of virtual enterprises (tenants), virtual data centers (sub-tenants) and virtual appliances (applications).  Abiquo 2.0 supports an unlimited number of pricing models, the company says, each in any international currency and with any combination of individually defined resource, application and standing charges, which can also vary by storage tier and physical data center.

CloudPassage, a cloud server security provider, says that security event logging and alerting capabilities are now available on its Halo platform. Halo detects a range of security events and system states, alerting organizations when they occur. The platform provides real-time visibility since log entries and alerts can be generated on any rule created from cloud server configuration checks, according to CloudPassage. Users can define which system states and events generate logs or alerts, their level of importance, and who will receive them. Groups and profiles can be used to create various alerting scenarios.

Cloud security vendor McAfee is announcing enhancements to the McAfee Cloud Security Platform, which secures email, Web and authentication traffic moving between an organization and the cloud. The new version of the platform includes the McAfee Cloud Identity Manager, which expands integration with security assertion markup language (SAML) aware and traditional log-in cloud applications and enhances ease-of-use with an single sign-on portal for centralized access. It also includes McAfee Email Gateway version 7.0, which completes consolidation of the Secure Computing Email Gateway (IronMail) platform with the McAfee Email and Web Security appliance platform, and offers new encryption features, such as the ability to view encrypted messages from mobile devices.
