Akitio launched its personal cloud server, MyCloud Duo. MyCloud Duo features an UPn-AV media server for streaming media files on a local network, Web-based file browser and media players, a Web portal for remote access, a gigabit Ethernet connection, and virtual storage capabilities for mobile devices.
DataFlux announced the general availability of its unified platform for data management, quality and integration. DataFlux Data Management Platform 2.2 includes enhancements to its MDM ease-of-use, a Web-based product that serves as a centralized repository for managing business terms, a reference data manager, configurable at-a-glance summaries and monitor views, and extended features for unstructured data access.
GE put out the latest version of its big data access product, Proficy Historian 4.5. The updated version adds support of more than 15 million tags, as well as enhancements to security and scalability.
HP made multiple updates and releases under its Information Optimization portfolio, including: IDOL 10, meant to analyze all of an enterprise’s unstructured and structured data through patterns and in real time, and based on analytics and processing capabilities from separate acquisitions earlier this year, Autonomy and Vertica; HP Social Intelligence Solution, for culling social media channels for information related to brand reputation and customer experience; IT Performance Management Suite, which has more than 50 pre-built key performance indicators and an update to its Business Service Management software; and two new storage solutions geared at unstructured information and growing data volumes, HP B6200 StoreOnce Backup System and, for midsized clients and in conjunction with Microsoft, HP X5000 G2 Network Storage System. LiveOffice announced the release of LiveOffice File Archive. A cloud-based service for archiving documents from online sharing platforms, LiveOffice File Archive uses each platform’s API to capture and store the files, and then keeps the associated metadata from the content for organization’s searches.
Red Hat announced enhancements to its open source solution for Java developers using the OpenShift Platform as a Service. New integrations to OpenShift include support for Jenkins, a building service for the cloud, connections between IDE and the cloud, and support for Maven.
Revolution Analytics updated its software package for R-based data analytics. Enhanced or new in Revolution R Enterprise 5.0 are automatic distribution of analysis from a desktop across nodes of a cluster through Windows HPC server, new data import and cleaning/manipulation tools, integration with Hadoop, and new big data statistical algorithms.
ScaleXtreme Inc. introduced Dynamic Server Assembly, a product for creating highly structured servers. Dynamic Server Assembly enables modeling, provisioning and launching of servers with a range of cloud providers. Users can create specific templates for the server and apply them to new machines across virtualized systems.
Talend unveiled the version 5 of its Unified Platform. The update includes: the new Talend Enterprise BPM product, for enhancing and coordinating existing data management and application integration platforms, with functionality for modeling and management of processes, collaboration between management, analysts and end users on functionality, and the creation process solutions; as well as new deployment tools that enable hybrid cloud integration environments to access Hadoop and other big data management platforms, and a handful of enhancements to its respective products for data integration, data quality, MDM and ESB. Zultys introduced MXIE SuperView, its contact center management tool. Features in MXIE SuperView include: real-time tracking on active calls; snapshots of group-level statistics; monitoring of individual agent activity; and automatic, configurable alerts on calls.
