A number of cloud computing vendors made Information Management magazine’s list of companies to keep an eye on.
The magazine based its picks primarily on buzz from customers, analysts and its editors’ findings.
“When we looked at all the current activity in the information management space it was a real challenge to narrow our list to 40 vendors,” said Information Management Editorial Director Jim Ericson.” In the end, the best criteria was that each of the providers we selected offers timely products or services that fill an unmet need or answer a longstanding challenge in an elegant and useful way."
Cloud companies on the list include SuccessFactors, which sells business execution software as a service; Coupa, which markets cloud-based procurement software; Sonian, which has a cloud-hosted email and document management; Appirio, which offers a cloud systems integrator/app development shop that sits between Salesforce, Google, Amazon and Facebook; Birst, which markets business intelligence and data warehouse as a service; and Kapow Technologies, which has a software as a service for database and web data extraction.
