What is the best way to test a data warehouse?

Q: Please send me info about how to test a data warehouse - beginning with the act of defining requirements up to the point of design. Do I need testing software or can it be achieved by means of test cases? What kinds of test cases would you recommend?

I agree with Adrienne. Data warehouse testing is very complex and many different issues can arise. Here are some that we found http://www.querysurge.com/Site/web/resources/white-papers/Common-Data-Defects.pdf

I also created a YouTube video called "What is a Data Warehouse and How Do I Test It?". I think it provides a pretty good look at the process. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qe39vPFabuA
