DM Review Announces Winners of the 2005 Readership Awards

Information Management Online, October 20, 2005

Information Management Editorial Staff

DM Review , the premier publication for business intelligence and analytics, announced the winners of its 2005 Readership Awards. Each year, DM Review enlists a research firm to poll readers to determine the top companies serving the technology needs of the business intelligence community in specific market segments. This year, The Gantry Group, LLC, a Massachusetts-based strategic advisory and research firm, conducted an independent survey of DM Review readers from early-May through mid-September 2005. The survey divided software solutions into nine categories and asked respondents to rate the vendors of those solutions based on the quality of the products in use in their organizations and their level of customer satisfaction. The ratings were based on a four-point scale from excellent to poor. The 2005 Readership Award winners are the leaders in their respective categories.

"We have a savvy audience who values the products in use within their organizations," said Brian Cronin, publisher of DM Review. "We congratulate the 2005 Readership Award winners for the high level of product and service excellence they provide to our readers."

Introducing the Readership Merit Awards

Our annual survey has helped us track the evolution of the high-tech industry from the perspective of our readers. The consolidation of vendors within the business intelligence/data warehousing space has also affected the changing environment. In order to keep up with the pace of change, DM Review's awards are evolving too. We created the Readership Merit Award to replace the DM Review 100.

In addition to declaring a winner in each of the nine categories, many other companies were mentioned as providing quality products and service by our survey respondents. Readership Merit awards will go to those vendors who received two or more votes of satisfactory or above in the Readership Study.

The December issue will feature the Readership Awards as well as the new Readership Merit Awards. See which vendors our readers successfully deploy and rely on to achieve competitive edge.
