Acxiom Corporation announced it has acquired SmartDM, a full-service direct marketing agency based in Nashville, Tenn., that offers comprehensive direct marketing services and information management for mid-sized companies.

"With the acquisition of SmartDM, Acxiom enhances its ability to provide the sophisticated information management capabilities to mid-sized companies that we offer to the largest, most respected companies in the world," said Acxiom Company Leader Charles D. Morgan. "The combination of Acxiom's information management capabilities with SmartDM's ability to integrate e-mail, direct mail and call center marketing activities is a win-win for mid-sized companies."

SmartDM offers four main channels of direct marketing information services, including direct mail, e-mail, Customer Relationship Management and data management. These channels provide clients with a fully integrated information management platform that allows companies and organizations to transform data into useful business knowledge resulting in effective marketing decisions and campaign strategies.

SmartDM Chief Executive Officer Richard Maradik described Acxiom as a leading global provider of information management services, including technology, data, business intelligence and consulting. "We're proud to be a part of that continuing creativity and imagination. We believe our experience and expertise in serving specific market sectors will broaden and enhance Acxiom's already advanced competency in the customer information management and CRM services space," Maradik said.
