January 6, 2009 - pTools announced the deployment of pTools Content Management Software for the new Giveblood.ie Web site and donor clinic service for the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS).

The project provides detailed blood donor clinic listings nationwide as well as blood availability information and an online questionnaire that helps people understand if they are eligible to give blood.

pTools worked with IBTS staff and with Open Interface, the usability and accessibility company, to define the key requirements around donor clinics and mapped this process successfully to the new site. The challenge to map the process was additionally met by providing CMS users with the ability to use the pTools Mapping component that allows the site’s visitors to see a clinic’s location and even to source directions.

“Feedback both internally and externally has been very positive. Of particular note is the user-friendly approach to the delivery of clinic information, additional interactivity through the eligibility quiz and the overall look and feel which is sharp and contemporary,” Mirenda O’Donovan, head of corporate affairs at IBTS said.
