Singapore's Premier Regional Search Engine Deploys Pentaho

December 17, 2008 - Pentaho Corporation announced that SPH Search deployed Pentaho Data Integration Enterprise, Pentaho Reporting Enterprise and Pentaho Dashboards Enterprise to provide greater visibility into its online business.

Pentaho's commercial open source business intelligence products were chosen for their standards-based scalable architecture, lower cost of ownership and global deployability after SPH evaluated alternatives. Pentaho Certified Partner iZeno managed the implementation.

A joint venture of media giants Singapore Press Holdings Group (SPH) and Schibsted Group, SPH Search is the company behind rednano.sg, a premier online destination for users looking for information about Singapore, its people and businesses. To manage and evolve a rapidly-growing online business, users at SPH Search needed access to timely search metrics to better understand customer needs and interests. Because of the nature of its business pace, users could not rely on time-consuming cycles with the IT department to provide key metrics and needed a system that business users could continuously adjust to their needs in a self-service model.

Pentaho Data Integration Enterprise allows SPH Search to incorporate data from multiple sources for an integrated business view, while Pentaho's dashboard and reporting capabilities deliver interactive, personalized information to business users.
