CA Enters Data Profiling Market

December 10, 2008 - CA signed a distribution agreement with Exeros to offer their data profiling software as part of the CA ERwin Data Modeling Suite.

With the new product, CA ERwin Data Profiler, CA will extend support for master data management initiatives by offering an integrated solution that combines data profiling and modeling.

Key to CA’s selection of Exeros’ data profiling tool is its ability to compare data distributed in different systems across the enterprise. The integration of CA ERwin Data Profiler and CA ERwin Data Modeler simplifies the task of identifying related information, such as customer data, ensuring the data matches the structural design and modeling it for accurate and efficient use in applications, data marts, data warehouses and MDM hubs, according to CA representatives.

“Customers involved in MDM and other data intensive initiatives face challenges in understanding under-documented data in legacy systems and making it all work together,” said Sean Graham, vice president, software engineering for Data Modeling at CA. “By automating data profiling and integrating it with modeling, data analysts can more easily and effectively model cross-system data assets - greatly reducing time, cost and complexity for MDM and data warehousing and providing more complete information for business intelligence.”
