June 23, 2008 - Health care provider Community Medical Centers licensed Lawson Smart Office and the Lawson S3 Human Capital Management, Enterprise Financial Management, Supply Chain Management and Business Intelligence Suites.

The health care provider will use the Lawson system to help consolidate business processes, simplify IT management and increase worker productivity.

Community Medical Centers is a 727-bed health system with 6,000 employees in California's San Joaquin Valley. It operates three acute care hospitals, including the Community Regional Medical Center, Clovis Community Medical Center and Fresno Heart and Surgical Hospital. The health system also serves patients through several long-term care and outpatient centers.

Community Medical Centers currently relies on multiple business applications to meet its administrative needs across the human resources, financial and materials management departments. The organization chose Lawson as a part of an internal strategic initiative to consolidate disparate software systems while providing the best support for the organization's evolving technology and business needs.

We were impressed with how Lawson designs its applications with the specific needs of healthcare providers in mind, said Tim Brown, director of business systems at Community Medical Centers.
