A Web-based membership management system was acquired and will be used to manage the membership data as well as drive a new members- only Web page. This members-only Web page will provide additional information to the DAMA members. Alliances have been formed with a number of organizations, resulting in an increased number of benefits and discounts for DAMA members. DAMA International has also joined the ICCP and will become active in certifications for DAMA members.
2002 promises to be a banner year for DAMA International with larger conferences, more services to DAMA members and the active involvement of the local chapters in DAMA International activities. The Presidents Council Liaison and the ICCP representative are now ex officio members of the DAMA International Board. An outstanding Board of Advisors has been elected to provide guidance on the direction for DAMA International and the issues that DAMA International needs to address.
DAMA International now has approximately 40 chapters around the world and approximately 6,500 members. We are continuing to add new chapters and new members, including members-at-large.
