Cisco introduced a suite of solutions for the SAP HANA platform built on the Cisco Unified Computing System. Highlights include all-in-one rack mount solutions, scale-out blade server solutions coffering with the choice of either EMC or NetApp storage.
Composite Software released version 6.2 of Composite Data Virtualization Platform. The update features Performance Connectivity for PostgreSQL 9.0 and 9.1 for added data access; a heterogeneous data ship join for Microsoft SQL Server and HP Vertica; and performance improvements for DB2, Netezza and Teradata.
Google released an updated version of Google Search Appliance. GSA 7.0 users to preview documents, offers algorithmic and relevance enhancements, and utilizes Google Translation, which automatically translates search results in more than 60 languages.
HyTrust launched the latest version of HyTrust Appliance, its network-based virtual solution that intercepts and controls all administrative requests in the VMware control plane. HyTrust Application 3.0 includes Secondary Approval, which enforces the “two-person rule,” and also enables enterprises to define policy rules that trigger the approval workflow when specified users attempt to execute selected operations.
IBM expanded its PuresSystems lineup of computing, storage and networking technology with three new products. PureData System for Transactions allows for the rapid handling of transactions and interactions, with scalable hardware and software; PureData Systems for Analytics, powered by Netezza, optimizes the performance of data warehouse services and analytics applications; and PureData System for Operational Analytics delivers insights to more than 1,000 business operations to support real-time decision making. Melissa Data released Personator, an integrated data quality Web service designed to provide identity verification and fraud prevention for eCommerce applications. This cloud-based solution supports multiple protocols, such as SOAP, XML, REST and JSON, and also verifies contact records through data parsing and conservative corrections.
NetSuite unveiled NetSuite Two-Tier ERP for Oracle, powered by a new version of NetSuite OneWorld and SuiteCloud Connectors to Oracle. Designed for global enterprise to manage subsidiaries, this solution features embedded analytics and role-based dashboards, as well as financial and operational dashboards for division and subsidiary stakeholders. SAP announced SAP Precision Retailing, its solution for influencing customer behavior through personalized offers and suggestion in real time, across multiple channels. Built on the SAP NetWeaver Cloud platform, this solution includes features for maintaining real-time visibility of performance metrics, managing store budgets and sharing insights with other store managers.
VMware unveiled updates to VMware IT Business Management Suite and VMware vCloud Automation Center. VMware IT Business Management Suite 5.6 features include compliance views of the operations dashboard, the inclusion of VMware vFabric Hyperic, which helps with application level monitoring, and flexible group policies. Based on DynamicOps, VMware vCloud Automation Center 5.1 enables authorized users to request new IT services or manage existing resources and is integrated with vCenter Orchestrator, to automate IT process workflow.
