Actifio introduced PAS 5.0, which allows application recovery for large-scale enterprises and cloud service providers. Utilizing Oracle, this upgrade features a 200 percent deduplication capacity increase, 10x bandwidth increase with 10Gb and faster on-boarding of remote applications via portable storage.

Birst launched Birst Visualization Edition, a quickly deployable version of its enterprise product. The new edition includes a semantic layer, which eliminates the need to write SQL queries or perform data extractions, as well as the option of a monthly hosted version.

dataglobal introduced dg classification 2.0, an enterprise-wide data classification platform that enables security, GRC, e-discovery and storage applications to manage data simultaneously. The second version focuses on risk management, through identifying high toxicity data and enabling dynamic access control of information.

Dell launched Dell Converged Blade Data Center solution, which combines Dell EqualLogic Blade Arrays, Dell PowerEdge blade servers and Dell Force10 MXL blade switching. This bundle offers customers a complete data center within a single blade enclosure. Customers can expect reduced power and cooling costs, the PowerEdge M420, a quarter height 2-socket blade server, and the ability to manage Dell server and storage hardware from VMware or Microsoft management consoles.

Hortonworks announced the release of Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) 1.0, an open source platform powered by Apache Hadoop. HDP packages Apache Hadoop projects, such as Pig, Hive, Oozie and HBase, all on one platform Designed for data management professionals, HDP allows enterprises to load and persistently store data in any format and at any volume.

Karmasphere unveiled Karmasphere 2.0, its collaborative analytics workspace powered by Hadoop. This software leverages open APIs, imports SAS and SPSS models, automatically writes SQL and automatically publishes big data insights using Excel, Tableau or Spotfire.

NetApp now offers Dynamic Disk Pools, its data protection technology. This solution administers dynamic reconstructions of failed drives, allowing customer to maintain data availability, by restoring a system to optimal faster than with traditional RAID architectures.

ParAccel launched a new Hadoop collaborative solution, which allows companies to run collaborative, unconstrained analysis across multiple data sets, without the need for a major programming effort and platform support. This product centers on the inclusions of the Hadoop On-Demand Integration Module.

Red Hat unveiled Red Hat Cloudform, its open hybrid cloud management platform which allows enterprises to create and manage an IaaS hybrid cloud, and access the vendor’s self-service computing resources. Red Hat Cloudform offers an infrastructure stack that includes Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, JBoss Enterprise Middleware and Red Hat Storage.

Unisys released its Mobility Solutions Suites, services that are designed to help organizations manage and secure mobile devices. This service bundle for mobile devices offers assessment, application development, user authentication and Intel Anti-theft Technology.
