AVEVA released AVEVA Surface Manager 12.1, its updated engineering design and information management solution for plant, power and marine industries. AVEVA Surface Manager 12.1 includes surface imports from various formats, extraction of surface information from third-party software, and tools for quality assessment of application data.

MetaSource LLC announced the immediate availability of MetaSource User Administration. The release, distributed on-premise or as SaaS, gives a Web-based user administration for EMC ApplicationXtender, with supported functionality for user and group management, AX Native and Windows security, permissions and alternate security settings, and other identification management functionality.

Oracle launched its latest version of its Java development integrated development environment. NetBeans IDE 7.1 is free and open source, and includes support for JavaFX 2.0, JDK7 and Oracle WebLogic Server 12c, along with enhancements to its Swing GUI Builder, and CSS3 support and tools for visual debugging.  

XCM Solutions released the latest version of its workflow automation software, XCM 9.0. The updated solution features enhanced customization and knowledge management, as well as additions for customized status creation and automation within the extension process. ZeXtras updated its open source systems administration suite. ZeXtras Suite 1.2.0 includes the ZeXtras Mobile Module as well as new or updated features for push synchronization, calendar and address book synchronization, GAL searches, advanced mailbox search, attachment management, and enhanced backup.
