Here are the top 5 fastest growing states for tech hiring

New Jersey New Jersey

During the first half of the year, New Jersey has added roughly 3,600 jobs, showing a similar growth rate as last year (5.2 percent). The increase has been bolstered by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority’s incentive grants for small and mid-sized business who add at least 10 jobs in the technology or biotechnology sectors.

Massachusetts Massachusetts

More tech jobs have been created in Massachusetts year over year. Those 2,600 new positions can be attributed to the Mass Technology Leadership Council work to educate lawmakers about technology and encourage policies focused on tech employment.

Missouri Missouri

Earlier this year, Dice name St. Louis as the fastest growing city for technology jobs. To further this growth, St. Louis’ IT Entrepreneur Network has selected its first Entrepreneur in Residence to coach tech startups.

Texas Texas

Tech job creation is growing at twice the rate as the state’s private sector employment (3.2 percent versus 1.6 percent). Median salaries for tech professional averaged out to New York New York

New York City’s “Silicon Alley” helped the state reach the fifth slot in Dice’s survey, with 2.6 percent growth. And with a high-tech high school in the works, those numbers will only continue to grow. SAP plans to partner with a New York City school to offer students a high school diploma along with an associate’s degree, with the opportunity to land jobs at participating companies.

Hiring in technology has been growing steadily and has no sign of slowing, with over 84,802 tech positions available across the nation. But what five states lead the country in increased tech hiring? Dice took a look at the fastest growing states for technology jobs, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
